Riverwalk Marketplace
Riverwalk Marketplace is the premier festival marketplace in New Orleans, filled with shopping, dining and entertainment under one roof. The center is constructed on the site of the 1984 World's Fair along the Mississippi River, within walking distance of the French Quarter, Downtown and major hotels. Riverwalk lies adjacent to the Convention Center and Aquarium of the Americas.

Riverwalk Marketplace is an upscale shopping mall in New Orleans, Louisiana. The mall is located in the Central Business District on the Mississippi River waterfront. This is a very convenient location, which is one of the reasons that the mall is so popular with both locals and tourists. Riverwalk Marketplace has entrances on both Canal Street and Poydras Street, which makes it very accessible. The complex has a variety of different stores as well as dining and entertainment options.
Some of the best stores at Riverwalk Marketplace are Brookstone, American Sole, A simpler Time, Foot Locker, Chica's Boutique, and Elegant Illusions. The mall is also home to New Orleans Toy & Hobby, Silver Salon, Rocky Mountain Chocolate, Riverside Fashions, and Riverwalk Resort Wear. In addition to these stores, there are numerous other retail options. These options include clothing stores, book stores, and touristy stores. All of these shops are very well-known and popular with people shopping in the area. The stores sell a wide variety of products. The employees who work in the stores are also very friendly and willing to help.
The restaurants in Riverwalk Marketplace serve delicious food and offer very high levels of customer service. Patrons always enjoy themselves while eating at the mall. Well-known eating establishments at the complex include Cafe Du Monde, Crazy Lobster, and Cedar Grill. Margarita Mardi Gras and Messina's Seafood and Po-Boys are also located at Riverwalk Marketplace.
Riverwalk Marketplace was forced to close for a while in 2005 due to the damage the facility had from Hurricane Katrina. The mall had major wind and looting damage. Some of the stores were re-opened by December, though, so things quickly returned to normal. Many people were even able to do their Christmas shopping at Riverwalk Marketplace that year.
Because there are so many fun and exciting things to do at Riverwalk Marketplace, it is a great place to spend an afternoon. From browsing through the many stores to eating dinner at one of the restaurants, it will definitely be a great experience. It is definitely one of the best malls in New Orleans.
